Rebeca's childhood was marked by significant financial challenges. Rebeca also recalls the positive influence of her grandmother, who instilled in her essential life values. "She taught me good manners and fundamental values. I am convinced she would be proud of me if she were still with us," she shares emotionally.

After arriving in Canada, she meticulously planned her path, demonstrating unwavering determination to achieve her goal. Starting as a caregiver in shelters was a crucial step, reinforcing her commitment to the profession.
Despite considerable challenges, balancing family responsibilities, work, and studies, her perseverance eventually paid off. Today, Rebeca is proud to be a registered nurse with the Order of Nurses of Quebec. She now works in the cardiology department at Sacré-Cœur Hospital in Montreal, where she uses her expertise and dedication to provide the best care for her patients. Her journey is an inspiring testament to what can be accomplished with determination and passion.
Rebeca is also involved in significant projects. One project that is particularly close to her heart is "Martissant, Rendez-vous avec la Culture," organized with the Club of Friends of Emerging Truth. This project facilitated cultural performances that not only entertained but also celebrated the local cultural richness. Rebeca, who served as secretary of the Club of Friends of Emerging Truth from 2012 to 2015 while living in Haiti, excelled in her role with dedication. "This project is an example of what we can achieve when we work together with passion and commitment," she emphasizes.
Looking to the future, Rebeca aspires to continue her studies to obtain a bachelor's degree in nursing. "This degree will allow me to deepen my knowledge and open new professional opportunities. I want to contribute even more to improving healthcare," she explains. She also anticipates major developments in her field, with a growing demand for personalized care and increased integration of technology.
Her biggest dream is to manage her own business in Quebec in the near future. Although she has not yet decided on the specific sector she wishes to enter, Rebeca is passionate about the idea of creating and leading a business that meets community needs while integrating innovative practices. She dreams of building an enterprise that will allow her to leverage her skills and experiences, making a positive impact on her environment.
For young people and those starting in nursing, Rebeca offers this advice: stay passionate and determined. "The nursing profession requires infinite patience, deep compassion, and a true commitment to the well-being of others. It’s important not to choose this field solely for financial reasons, as that could make you unhappy for life and negatively affect those you serve," she recommends.
Outside of her career, Rebeca finds happiness in moments spent with her son. "I cherish every moment with him, whether at the park or watching cartoons. These moments are precious and allow me to relax while creating memories," she shares.
Rebeca is also deeply grateful to her husband, who has been an indispensable support throughout her journey. "I want to thank my husband for his encouragement and unwavering support. His presence and encouragement have been essential at every stage of my journey, allowing me to pursue my dreams with confidence and determination."
Among her hobbies, Rebeca is particularly captivated by the series Nikita. "This series has fascinated me with the strength, determination, and resilience of its main character. Nikita embodies a woman who, despite obstacles, pursues her goals while staying true to her values. This series has inspired me to show perseverance and courage in my own life," she explains.
